PHOENIX (AP) - Sky Harbor International Airport has begun testing a new federal screening system that takes invasive X-rays of passenger’s bodies to detect concealed explosives and other weapons.
The technology, called backscatter, has been around for several years but has not been widely used in the U.S. as an anti-terrorism tool because of privacy concerns.
The Transportation Security Administration said it is still searching for a way to refine the machine’s images so that the normally graphic pictures can be blurred in certain areas while still being effective in detecting bombs and other threats.
Most recently, the scanner caused a sensation when it was installed on Paris Hilton’s car and made Britney Spears’ crotch visible to those standing nearby.
Hilton and Spears had agreed to participate in the tests, since invasive pictures of the two are widely available on the Internet, on billboards, and in church bulletins.

No, what you can blame for the crotch shot is Britney herself, a young woman with two babies at home who ought to have better sense than to appear in public without her underpants, but apparently does not.

Isn’t it time that we STOPPED making this girl so important. Personally, I don’t care if she continues to have pics of her crotch taken, by accident or otherwise. I say she ought to think about a career in porn, and become the role model for a new generation of mouseketeers! Walt Disney must be doing somersaults in his grave right about now!

I actually feel sorry for Brit. As a mother of two under 30, I would love to just hold her hand and walk her through some of this crap. If my life was monitored as closely as hers, I’m sure I wouldn’t be a poster child for young mothers everywhere. Poor thing .. . . .

The funniest thing anyone has said about the whole Britney thing recently… was about a photo of Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton all three squished into the front seat of Paris’ sports car… They titled the photo “The Las Vegas Axis of Evil” hehehe nice.
